JANUARY 2010 UPDATE
Dear Pastor & Church Brethren:
A Happy New Year greeting from the northern Philippines. Our family would like to say thank you for your prayers and financial support to the ministry that God has called us to do.
Last month (December) I had the privilege of teaching to a Bible College for the first two weeks, the third week I spoke to a Youth Conference and then to a Bible Conference and then the last week, we had our Year- End Stewardship Conference. We have seen a lot of decisions (both salvation and dedication in the services) and what a blessing to see what God is doing.
FAMILY NEWS: Amie and Mikey came back from Florida last December 24 instead of December 9. They had to cancel their flight because the Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. was not cooperative with the visa process. Amie has to spend a lot for overnight shipping hoping that the visa would come on time, but it did not, and when she finally gets it, it was a temporary visa instead of the permanent resident visa that the Embassy promised. So when they came, we stayed a couple of days in Manila to fix her visa, pay more fees that she already paid in the States but praise God we were able to secure the permanent resident visa. Although we spent unexpected extra money, we are so glad that we don’t have any more problems with the visa situation.
CHURCH UPDATE: After a busy December, we have changed gears and face the challenges for the New Year. The Church here in Apayao is doing fine. Our teens that went for a Youth Conference came back challenged to serve God. Some of them were able to go with me in Manila for a Bible Conference. Our young men are now leading our Sunday evening, Wednesday evening and Friday Night Youth Fellowship services. Most of them show up also during our Saturday soul winning visitation.
OUTREACH: We have already two outreaches in the towns of Pudtol, Apayao and Sanchez Mira, Cagayan. Pudtol outreach had been going for a year, while Sanchez outreach was started this month. Please pray that we can find a place to hold our services for our Sanchez outreach. So far, we have distributed 1,200 John & Romans and 1,200 gospel tracts in the neighborhood. Sanchez Mira is an hour to an hour and a half travel from our Luna Church. There are 20 teens from our church that goes with me there for visitation once a week. With this, we are praying for a Van for us to use in this ministry. Please pray also for the weekly expenses for this new work.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- LAND PROJECT- We always mentions this in our prayer letter because we are really in need. There is a piece of property that we had been praying for but the last update is that the owner is holding his land to wait for a little bit so that he can sell it later for a better price. The first time we heard that it was for sale it was about forty thousand dollars (with the current Philippine peso and US dollar exchange rate). So please pray for this great need. Last November, the owner of the land next to this piece of property needed some money for family needs and talked to us if we want to purchase a part of his land (2,000 square meters- about 6,000 square feet). Since, it is next to the property that we are praying for, we agreed to buy. We paid the first payment last December and we are to pay the half of it the first week of March. This land cost six hundred thousand pesos (P600, 000.00- about $13, 500.00). Please pray with us for the last payment and if you can be of help, it will be a great help.
- VAN- I mentioned about our need for a van in our new church outreach in the town of Sanchez Mira. We can get a slightly used van between two hundred fifty to three hundred thousand pesos (P250, 000.00- 300, 000.00), which will be about six thousand dollars ($6, 000.00).
- PERSONAL NOTE- I want to share with all of you a personal note here and hope that you will pray for it. I personally believe that God knows our need and He has His own way of providing it, and we are so thankful for all of you that are helping us. I would like to take this moment to share our situation and please pray for it. Please understand that I am not in anyway complaining or bringing up a burden to all of you. This is in connection with the support level that we currently receive and our month to month expenses. When we started deputation, since we are not working in the cities, we concluded that we don’t need as much, as those that would be working in the cities. So, we traveled for about a year to raise what we thought we need. From my observations and experiences (from last year), although the cost of living here in the countryside is lower that those in the cities, what I did not think about was that we have to make a couple of trips to the cities to buy some ministry and family needs (the nearest city from our place is a three hour bus ride), also when Amie needs to go to the hospital, we have to travel three hours to be in a good hospital. Also, groceries, gas, medicines and some basic supplies/needs are more expensive than in the cities. We are so thankful that God provided all our needs last year and when we are in need, out of nowhere, God would supply the needs through you. We are just sharing this with all of you to let you know that despite our limited support, you were so obedient to God when He spoke to you to give extra money above what we currently receive. This year, please continue to pray for us and that God would use us together to bring the gospel to the lost.
- Please pray for our future schedules and for God to meet the needs: Please pray for our needs for the India Trip. We are currently looking for an airline ticket.

We would like to say thank you for your prayers and help for the previous year. What a blessing and we believe that without your prayers and financial help, we could not have made it. So, may we come again to you to please include us in your fervent prayers as we are working together for God.
Prayerfully yours in Christ Jesus,
The TRUMPO FAMILY
